ABOUT

The Skills Your Child Won’t Learn by Accident

Executive function skills are not something children simply grow into on their own.

They develop through everyday experiences, when those moments are used with intention. Real growth happens when children practice skills in context. Navigating boredom. Waiting when they don’t want to. Working through frustration instead of avoiding it.

Parents are in the best position to guide this process, through consistent, real-world opportunities that build independence, resilience, and confidence over time.

The Focus of Coaching

  • Family Values + Clear Expectations

We help families define what actually matters to them and turn those values into clear, consistent expectations at home. Children thrive when the environment is predictable and grounded in shared meaning, not constant correction.

  • Parenting Approach + Coregulation

Your response sets the tone. We guide parents in building a calm, authoritative presence that balances connection with structure. This includes learning how to co-regulate during stress, respond instead of react, and stay consistent even when it’s hard.

  • Systems, Routines + Real-Life Practice

Executive function is built through daily life. We help you create simple, sustainable systems for mornings, after school, and evenings so children can practice responsibility, follow through, and independence in real time.

  • Skill Building Through Everyday Challenges

We focus on the moments that usually get avoided. Frustration, boredom, pushback. These are the opportunities where growth happens. We teach parents how to support their child without taking over, so skills actually stick.

How coaching works

Coaching is for parents who feel like they’re doing a lot… but not seeing real change.

You’re managing reminders, navigating pushback, dealing with shutdowns or big reactions, and somewhere in that, it starts to feel like you’re carrying more than your child is.

You want your child to be more independent, more responsible, more capable. You also want a home that feels calmer and more predictable.

Coaching is for families who are ready to shift out of constant reacting and start building skills in a way that actually lasts.

Who coaching is for

We start by understanding your family, your values, and the specific patterns playing out at home. From there, we focus on a few key areas at a time, building structure, strengthening your parenting approach, and creating opportunities for your child to practice real skills in everyday life.

You’ll learn how to respond differently in the moments that usually feel overwhelming, how to step back without disconnecting, and how to hold expectations without constant reminders.

The work is practical. It happens in your real routines, your real conversations, your real challenges.

Over time, things shift. Less resistance. More follow through. More confidence on both sides.

What makes our approach different

Most support focuses on fixing the child or managing behavior in the moment.

We focus on what’s underneath and what actually changes things long term.

We work through the parent, not around them. Because what happens at home, every day, is where these skills are built or missed.

We don’t rely on constant reminders, rewards, or quick fixes. Those can get short-term compliance, but they don’t build independence. Instead, we help you create structure, hold clear expectations, and stay steady when your child pushes back.

We prioritize coregulation. Your ability to stay calm and grounded becomes the anchor that helps your child learn to do the same.

And we use real life as the practice field. Not separate programs or artificial systems. The hard moments. The boring moments. The everyday routines. That’s where executive function actually develops.

This approach takes more intention on the front end.

But it leads to something most families are actually looking for…

A child who can manage themselves without you having to manage everything for them.

What you can expect

Our role as coaches is to provide guidance grounded in research and real world experience. The strategies and recommendations we offer are based on evidence from developmental psychology, neuroscience, and executive function research. At times, some of the suggestions may feel uncomfortable or different from what you have tried in the past. Change often requires families to adjust routines, expectations, or responses to behavior, which can take time and practice.

From us, you can expect thoughtful guidance, practical strategies, and ongoing support as you work through challenges in your home. We will help you understand the “why” behind behaviors, identify patterns, and create systems that support your child’s growth and independence. We will also help you problem solve when things are not working and adjust strategies as your family learns and grows.

COACHING TESTIMONIALS

  • Nicole has helped our family tremendously. She worked with my husband and I on strategies to help our girls with executive functioning skills. Nicole met us where we were at, gave us a wealth of information and taught us strategies and ways to implement tools based on our family. She was extremely empathetic , kind, knowledgeable and care comes through the screen during meetings! We can’t thank her enough and will honestly continue to use her resources, strategies and coaching for years to come! We plan on continuing coaching in some capacity down the road too. If everyone had a Nicole in their family family toolbox of tips!

  • We came into this feeling exhausted. We were constantly reminding, repeating ourselves, and still dealing with pushback every day. What shifted for us wasn’t just our child… it was how we were showing up. We became more consistent, calmer, and clearer with expectations. Over time, our child started taking more ownership without us hovering. Our home feels more predictable now, and honestly, a lot less stressful.

  • I didn’t realize how much I was overhelping until we started coaching. I thought I was supporting my child, but I was actually doing too much for them. Learning how to step back while still staying connected was uncomfortable at first, but it worked. My child is more independent, handles frustration better, and I’m not constantly managing every little thing anymore. That alone has been a huge shift for our family.
